Lewer Crowns 60th Anniversary with Major Account
As the grand finale to The Lewer Agency’s 60th anniversary celebration in October, the company was pleased to announce the onboarding of Kiddie Academy, an education-based childcare leader for more than 30 years. Appropriately, the company, headquartered in Abingdon, Maryland, is also a 3-generation family operation. Kiddie Academy supports 160 franchise locations in the United States.
Lewer first learned that Kiddie Academy was looking for benefits and post-Affordable Care Act solutions last spring, according to Lewer Director, Small Business Tom Kohl. “Kevin Shaffer, VP of Finance at Kiddie Academy, reached out through our 7-Eleven portal in May inquiring about benefits for their franchisees,” said Kohl. “I set-up a call later that day with Kevin and Lewer Financial Advisors’ President Greg Addison.
“We had multiple discussions with Kevin and his team at Kiddie Academy’s corporate office in the following days,” Kohl continued. “As part of the discovery process, they facilitated introductions and a presentation to their Franchise Advisory Committee. This presentation and our follow-up conversations produced positive feedback.
“This is a new market and industry for our company and we’re eager to learn more about these franchise owners and how we can help them grow their businesses,” said Kohl. “We are encouraged that this account holds a significant future for us based on the shared principles of our two companies.”
