MEDICAL CARE IN THE UNITED STATES IS VERY EXPENSIVE!
A major accident or illness can create related expenses of $10,000 - 100,000 very quickly and very easily. If you do not have medical insurance, you will be required to pay for these expenses. Most people in the United States have medical insurance. International students are required to purchase medical insurance.
WHAT IS INSURANCE?
Private insurance companies collect small amounts of money (premiums) each year from very large groups of people. If a member of this group has an accident or illness, the doctor and the hospital bills are paid from the money collected.
